Life Care Centers of America honors associates who go above and beyond their job descriptions in caring for residents, their families and fellow associates. Here are three of the inspiring stories from our December 2018 winners:
Nikki Aiha, registered nurse, at Life Care Center of Altamonte Springs, Florida, not only cares for her current residents, but maintains relationships after they been reassigned. All of her co-workers and residents speak highly of her positive attitude. “My days have been challenging,” said a new resident. “Nikki stops to help me and always with a smile.”
Miste Obwoge, CNA, staff scheduler at Life Care Center of Plano, Texas, has gone above and beyond the expectations of her position. She can be found any day feeding residents and making them feel important. She knows everyone down to their clothing color preferences. Obwoge has even purchased clothing for residents.
LaKisha Edwards, LPN at Westside Village Health Center, Indianapolis, learned one of her residents needed a new medication. She personally went to the doctor and communicated with the pharmacy in order to get the resident the new medication as soon as possible.
